Financial Accountant II – Spanish Proficiency

About the role

ICON plc is seeking a Financial Accountant II with strong Spanish language skills to join its global finance team. The role involves managing financial transactions, preparing statements, and ensuring compliance with statutory and SOX requirements across multiple entities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts for two or more entities, including trial balance and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Calculate cost‑plus revenue and handle VAT, CT returns, and other statutory filings.
• Partner with local financial advisors to ensure accurate local accounts and timely filings.
• Monitor weekly cash‑flow and support forecast and budget preparation.
• Liaise with external auditors at group and local levels.
• Maintain SOX‑compliant processes and assist the Finance Manager with ad‑hoc information requests.

Required profile

• Qualified professional (CA, CMA, or CPA) with at least 2 years post‑qualification experience.
• Proven experience in R2R, GL, P&L, VAT, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Fluent in Spanish (read, write, speak).
• Ability to work independently and as a collaborative team member.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with Oracle Financials (preferred).
