Finance Controller (Karaikal Port)

About the role

We are seeking a Finance Controller to lead financial planning, reporting and control functions for the operations at Karaikal Port. The role will ensure accurate budgeting, performance analysis and compliance with statutory requirements, supporting strategic decisions across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the preparation, finalisation and periodic review of annual OPEX and CAPEX budgets.
• Monitor and analyse monthly, quarterly and annual revenue and profit performance, identify gaps and recommend corrective actions.
• Support business units in evaluating capital expenditure decisions.
• Prepare monthly Management Information System (MIS) reports and coordinate business reviews.
• Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements.
• Analyse expenses and receivables, proposing corrective measures.
• Manage cash flow and short‑term investment decisions.
• Ensure compliance with internal audit observations and strengthen internal controls.
• Lead statutory audit processes, address audit observations and maintain statutory compliances such as Service Tax and EPCG redemption.
• Motivate and coach the finance team through effective communication.
• Stay updated on finance best practices and adopt relevant technology.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in finance and accounting within a large organisation.
• Proven experience preparing balance sheets and handling statutory audits.
• Strong understanding of statutory compliance requirements (e.g., Service Tax, EPCG).
• Ability to analyse financial data and drive corrective actions.
• Excellent communication and team‑leadership skills.
