Educational Assistant – Part‑time (Multiple Locations)

About the role

This part‑time position supports classroom instruction in after‑school programs at several BEST sites in Eugene. Shifts run 2‑3.5 hours per day, Monday‑Friday, with schedules varying according to the CL‑STU attendance calendar.

Key responsibilities

• Assist teachers in preparing and delivering lessons, especially in reading, writing, and mathematics.
• Provide one‑on‑one or small‑group tutoring for students who need extra help.
• Prepare, distribute, collect, and organize instructional materials and assessments.
• Monitor student activities, record progress and behavior, and report to the teacher.
• Adapt curriculum and materials for students with limited English proficiency.

Required profile

• Highly Qualified status as defined by Oregon law (ORS 581‑037‑0006).
• Evidence of at least two years of post‑secondary study (72 credit hours) or an associate degree or equivalent test scores.
• Ability to work 2‑3.5 hours per day and be available for at least two hours per shift.
• Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
