Director of Product Design – Partnerships

About the role

Ethos is seeking a Director of Product Design to lead and elevate design for its Partnerships business and Platform teams. In this senior role you will shape how design helps independent insurance agents and their customers achieve their goals across a wide range of domains, from onboarding to underwriting and payments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design for Partnerships and Platform, covering agent onboarding, quoting, applications, sales, growth, retention, compensation, agency management, partner integrations, product expansion, underwriting and payments experiments.
• Mentor and grow a small, high‑performing team of product designers.
• Collaborate with Research, Product, Marketing, Lifecycle Marketing, Performance Creative and Brand to discover opportunities, prioritize roadmaps and create cohesive end‑to‑end journeys.
• Serve as Design Site Leader for Ethos India, raising the bar for design practice globally.

Required profile

• 10+ years of product design (UX) experience, including several years leading multi‑person design teams.
• 2+ years of start‑up experience with fast decision‑making and ability to tackle ambiguous problems.
• Experience designing B2B2C, gig‑economy or similar products for companies of varying sizes.
• Proven ability to design complex, decision‑heavy user journeys in fintech, healthtech or insuretech.
• Strong understanding of conversion optimization, user motivation and behavior‑design principles.
• Demonstrated success building and leading high‑performing design teams.
• A portfolio showcasing visual, interaction design and storytelling impact.
