About the role
The Design for Manufacturing (DfM) Manager will lead the industrialisation of power‑electronics products, ensuring that designs are manufacturable, cost‑effective and meet quality targets. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to translate product concepts into robust manufacturing processes.
Key responsibilities
- Define and mature process chains, tools, and MAE concepts to support series production up to QGC5.
- Generate requirements and contribute to product concept and design for industrialisation, targeting overall cost goals (PPC).
- Apply knowledge of assembly processes such as SMT, THT, PCB milling, chemical dispensing, laser cleaning, plasma treatment, pressing, screwing and EoL testing.
- Ensure design element reliability and validate manufacturing‑related content.
- Review and release designs together with Sub‑Project Mechanical leads and evaluate customer manufacturing requirements.
- Lead the DfM sub‑team, coordinate BOM delivery, and integrate Power Center standard modules.
- Oversee manufacturing aspects of samples, focusing on quality and learnings for series production.
- Develop modular DfM kits to reduce design variance and enable cost‑effective line adaptations for new variants.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 8–12 years of experience in design for manufacturing, preferably in power‑electronics or similar high‑mix environments.
- Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and drive industrialisation projects.
