Design Engineer – Automotive 3D Modeling

About the role

We are looking for a Design Engineer to create parametric 3D models for casting and plastic‑injection parts used in passenger‑car electronics. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality CAD data that meets DFM/DFA standards and supports series production.

Key responsibilities

• Develop parametric 3D part models in Catia V5/3DX using constrained sketches, Boolean operations and multi‑skeleton methodology.
• Produce detailed drawings, 3DFTA, GD&T annotations and tolerance stack‑ups (3DCS DVM/VA) for manufacturing.
• Perform self‑checks to resolve CAD quality, DFM and DFA issues before release.
• Design thermal management components such as heat sinks for Brain Division products.
• Manage design data within the PLM environment and ensure tasks are completed within agreed billable effort.
• Support part modeling for Vision, Detect, Cockpit and Compute product lines (cameras, sensors, displays, ECUs).

Required profile

• Mechanical Engineering graduate (BE/B.Tech).
• 4‑5 years of automotive part design experience.

Required skills

• Catia V5 and Catia 3DX.
• Parametric 3D modeling, constrained sketches and Boolean operations.
• Multi‑skeleton product structure methodology.
• Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).
• GD&T and tolerance stack‑up using 3DCS DVM/VA.
• Thermal management and heat‑sink design.
• PLM data management.
