Design Assistant

About the role

Raali is seeking a Design Assistant to join its creative team in Jodhpur. You will work hands‑on with designers to transform research and ideas into fashion and textile products, from concept to finished piece.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the creative team on new collection and product design.
• Develop prints, motifs, patterns, colour stories and textile layouts that align with Raali’s design language.
• Research Indian crafts, textiles, techniques and local traditions and translate findings into design concepts.
• Create moodboards, visual research, colour stories and collection plans.
• Sketch and render design concepts digitally.
• Explore translation of ideas into fabrics, embroidery, appliqué, patchwork and other craft techniques.
• Visit local craft clusters, work directly with artisans to prototype and sample products.
• Participate in sampling, refine designs, and document changes.
• Prepare product specifications, measurement sheets and tech packs.
• Document the creative process with photos and videos, and produce simple visual content for digital platforms.
• Create presentations and social media assets using Canva and track progress with Excel/Google Sheets.

Required profile

• Strong foundation in fashion/textile design and product development.
• Good understanding of colour, composition, pattern, proportion and materials.
• Passion for Indian textiles, crafts and traditional techniques.
• Ability to sketch and develop design concepts confidently.
• Detail‑oriented, organized and able to take a design from concept through sampling.
• Curious, collaborative and comfortable working hands‑on in the studio.
