Data Engineer

About the role

Easyship’s data platform powers shipping analytics and insights for customers and internal teams. As the business scales, we need a Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines, warehouses, and services on Google Cloud Platform. You will work closely with analysts, data scientists, and engineering teams to deliver reliable, high‑performance data solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Cloud Composer (Airflow), Pub/Sub, and Cloud Functions.
• Optimize and manage the BigQuery data warehouse, ensuring data integrity and performance.
• Implement complex transformations and modeling with Dataform (DBT).
• Develop infrastructure for rapid creation of data services and APIs.
• Implement data quality checks and monitoring processes.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in pipelines and queries.
• Support machine‑learning workflows for feature engineering, model training, and deployment.
• Contribute to an AI‑driven insights layer, staying current with emerging analytics technologies.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, preferably in SaaS, logistics, or e‑commerce.
• Strong proficiency in SQL.
• Extensive hands‑on experience with GCP services: BigQuery, Cloud Composer (Airflow), Dataform (DBT), Pub/Sub, and Cloud Functions.
• Proven experience building ETL pipelines and data services/APIs.
• Clear communication and collaboration with analysts, data scientists, and cross‑functional stakeholders.
