Construction Superintendent - Structural & Civil

About the role

The Construction Superintendent will lead the technical and administrative management of construction projects on‑site, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and project objectives. This role provides leadership throughout all construction phases, coordinating with clients, contractors, and the home office to deliver projects safely, on time, and to quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Liaise with the home office to secure support, identify issues, and develop solutions aligned with project targets.
• Guide and develop team skills, applying construction contract knowledge, change management, and risk mitigation.
• Promote professional relationships with stakeholders and ensure constructability reviews and method statements are in place.
• Drive staff development through training, motivation, and performance appraisals.
• Participate in recruitment decisions and maintain a succession plan for key positions.
• Oversee specialist activities such as heavy lift, transportation, build sequencing, and field execution.
• Manage system handover, defect and punch‑list clearance, and ensure all personnel follow HSE, quality, PTW, and client requirements.
• Lead HSE implementation, foster a zero‑harm safety culture, and ensure compliance with all HSE policies.
• Coordinate interface activities, conduct site meetings, and enforce adherence to approved drawings, specifications, and procedures.
• Set targets for supervised staff, monitor performance, and conduct formal appraisals.

Required profile

• Extensive construction knowledge covering contracts, change management, and risk mitigation.
• Proven experience in specialist construction disciplines, heavy lift, transportation, and system handover.
• Strong leadership ability to develop teams, manage succession planning, and conduct performance reviews.
• Demonstrated commitment to HSE compliance and safety culture.
