Component Engineer – Sealings for eAxle

About the role

We are looking for a Component Engineer specialized in sealing solutions for eAxle systems. You will design, develop and validate sealing interfaces such as O‑rings, radial shaft seals and wet‑seal concepts, ensuring they meet functional, production and reliability requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop eAxle sealing interfaces, including static and dynamic O‑rings, radial shaft seals and solid form‑in‑place solutions.
• Perform design calculations and simulations in line with standards such as ISO 3601 and DIN.
• Interpret manufacturing and interface drawings to create detailed sealing groove and counter‑surface designs.
• Select and validate elastomeric materials (e.g., EPDM, HNBR, FKM, ACM) for media compatibility, aging and environmental conditions.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure sealing concepts meet quality gates, validation loops and production constraints.
• Document part releases, BOMs and change management using SAP.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of sealing fundamentals, compression, stretch, groove fill, pressure‑supported behavior and corrosion effects.
• Proficiency in GD&T, tolerance analysis and stack‑up for sealing interfaces.
• Experience with material selection and validation for elastomers.
• Good knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, injection molding, stamping and forming.
• Effective communication skills for presenting concepts, risks and validation results.
