Design Engineer – Automotive Connectors

About the role

Bosch Global Software Technologies is seeking an experienced Design Engineer to lead the design and development of automotive connectors at its Bangalore centre. You will work independently on parametric models, manufacturing drawings and technical documentation, ensuring compliance with OEM specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop automotive connectors, creating parametric models and detailed manufacturing drawings.
• Perform requirement analysis, focus matrix, and concept generation based on customer needs.
• Prepare development, manufacturing, and offer drawings, as well as technical customer documentation.
• Implement Engineering Change Requests (ECR) on series parts and conduct tolerance stack‑up and functional proof of assemblies.
• Execute design calculations, benchmarking, and connector validation against specifications.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience.
• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong knowledge of thermoplastics, elastomers, metals, plating, and related manufacturing processes (molding, stamping, assembly).
• Experience with connector test specifications and OEM requirements.
• Proficiency in English; German is a plus.

Required skills

• UG NX and Teamcenter (CAD/PLM) – mandatory.
• GD&T and tolerance stack‑up analysis.
• CAD tools – UG NX, Creo (air‑gap and creepage calculations).
• SAP – material master and BOM creation.
• Design calculations, benchmarking, and validation techniques.
• Knowledge of injection molding, sheet‑metal stamping, and connector assembly processes.
• MS Project and MS Office suite.
