About the role
Uber is seeking a Communications Associate to join its India & South Asia team in Gurgaon. Reporting to the Director of Communications, you will help shape Uber’s brand narrative across press, digital, and social channels in one of its fastest‑growing markets.
Key responsibilities
- Support proactive and reactive brand and consumer communications, including drafting press releases, media notes, Q&As, and briefing documents.
- Generate and refine content ideas for social and digital platforms, ensuring stories resonate with local audiences.
- Engage daily with journalists, manage media inquiries, and build relationships with key reporters.
- Monitor news cycles, track media coverage, and identify opportunities to insert Uber into relevant conversations.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to maintain consistent messaging across earned, owned, and social channels.
- Assist in planning and executing events, launches, and activations, including content amplification.
- Help manage issues and reactive communications with speed, accuracy, and sound judgment.
Required profile
- 5–7 years of experience in public relations, journalism, or a related communications field.
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to simplify complex topics.
- Strong instinct for social and digital content that resonates with audiences.
- Deep understanding of India’s media landscape, news cycles, and cultural context.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment and juggle multiple priorities.
