Civil Engineer – Railway & Civil Construction

About the role

The company is seeking a hands‑on Civil Engineer to lead railway and civil construction activities at project sites in Kolkata. The role involves supervising day‑to‑day works, coordinating with subcontractors, and ensuring projects meet quality, cost, and schedule targets.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise excavation, earthwork, PCC, RCC foundations and structural works on site.
• Oversee reinforcement, shuttering, concreting, curing, masonry, plastering, steel, trusses and roofing activities.
• Manage flooring, paving, drainage and other allied civil works, ensuring alignment with approved drawings.
• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, site manpower and monitor daily progress.
• Maintain measurement books, prepare BOQ, RA bills and final billing documents.
• Ensure compliance with safety, HSE standards and resolve technical issues promptly.

Required profile

• Diploma in Civil Engineering (mandatory).
• 3–7 years of site‑execution experience, preferably in railway, EPC or infrastructure projects.
• Proven ability to independently handle site execution, subcontractor coordination and material management.
• Strong communication, problem‑solving and quality‑conscious approach.

Required skills

• RCC and civil construction techniques.
• Foundation, structural, reinforcement and shuttering works.
• Masonry, plastering, structural steel and roofing.
• Flooring, paving, drainage and allied works.
• Quantity estimation, BOQ preparation and site measurement.
• Reading and interpreting civil/structural drawings.
• AutoCAD (preferred), MS Excel and MS Office.
• Knowledge of construction materials and quality control.
