Buyer – Central Sourcing, Global Tail Sourcing

About the role

As a member of the Global Procurement Central Services (GPCS) Sourcing team, you will lead proactive procurement initiatives focused on unmanaged spend analysis, catalog expansion, and automation opportunities. The role supports operations across APAC, North America, and EMEA, driving cost savings and compliance through data‑driven sourcing strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze unmanaged and free‑text spend data to identify high‑value catalog expansion opportunities and build business cases.
• Propose and implement AI‑powered automation within the sourcing workflow, such as automated RFQ generation and intelligent vendor matching.
• Collaborate with Category Management teams to align sourcing strategies, leverage preferred supplier frameworks, and increase catalog coverage.
• Execute end‑to‑end competitive sourcing events, manage multi‑supplier negotiations, and award contracts based on total cost of ownership.
• Develop and present spend insights, automation proposals, and process‑improvement recommendations to leadership using data‑visualisation tools.
• Ensure compliance with Amazon’s Global Spending and Transaction Policy and serve as a compliance reference for junior team members.
• Maintain strong stakeholder relationships across business requesters, procurement operations, external suppliers, and cross‑functional partners.
• Track and deliver key performance metrics such as catalog coverage, spend under management, automation adoption, savings, and compliance rates.

Required profile

• Experience in global procurement or sourcing environments.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to translate spend data into actionable recommendations.
• Proven ability to work cross‑functionally and influence stakeholders across regions.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with AI‑powered procurement tools.
• Proficiency in data‑visualisation and analytical platforms.
