Billing Engineer – Construction

About the role

The Billing Engineer will lead the preparation, analysis and certification of all project billing activities for construction projects. This role ensures accurate quantity measurement, cost control and timely invoicing while coordinating closely with contractors, vendors and internal project teams.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and analyse Bill of Quantities (B.O.Q) and perform rate analysis.
• Conduct quantity surveying, calculate material quantities from AutoCAD drawings and reconcile estimated versus billed quantities.
• Negotiate and finalize interim payment certificates with contractors and vendors.
• Certify subcontractor bills, generate client invoices in required formats and manage daily work measurements.
• Coordinate site visits, record variations, collect payments and maintain complete project documentation.
• Control project costs, monitor contractor performance and prepare regular MIS reports.
• Purchase construction materials by obtaining quotes, qualifying specifications and managing supplier relationships.
• Review and coordinate AutoCAD drawings received from design teams and consultants.

Required profile

• Engineering graduate in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in billing, quantity surveying, cost control and site management.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
