Bank Cashier – Branch Operations

About the role

The Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations at the branch in line with internal and external banking guidelines. The role ensures accurate processing, end‑of‑day reconciliation, and provides courteous service to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments, issuing acknowledgements as required.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans, maintaining accurate system entries.
• Maintain inward/outward registers, petty‑cash and assets registers, and submit requisition forms to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tally, prepare end‑of‑day reports, and manage the branch vault jointly with the Operations Officer.
• Interact with customers, identify cross‑sell opportunities, and educate them on alternate banking channels.
• Ensure compliance with all regulations, bank policies, and defined turnaround times for transactions.

Required profile

• UG degree in any discipline, preferably Finance or Commerce.
• 1–2 years of experience handling high‑volume cash transactions.
• Exposure to financial modules/ERP for entry posting and accounting data consolidation.
