Associate Microsoft Purview Data Governance Engineer

About the role

PwC is looking for an Associate Microsoft Purview Data Governance Engineer to join its Advisory team in Mumbai. The role focuses on enabling and managing Microsoft Purview across on‑premises and cloud data sources, building automation, and ensuring robust data governance within Microsoft 365 environments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead enablement and management of Microsoft Purview for enterprise data sources both on‑premises and in the cloud.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, Python and Azure CLI to interact with Purview APIs for data source registration, scan configuration and scheduling.
• Create and manage Purview domains, collections and data catalogs to ensure thorough metadata capture and lineage tracking.
• Define and implement data governance policies across Microsoft 365 services such as SharePoint and Teams, focusing on privacy, security and compliance.

Required profile

• 3–6 years of hands‑on experience with Microsoft Purview or similar data‑governance platforms.
• Bachelor’s degree in Technology (B.Tech) or equivalent.
• Proven ability to collaborate with technical teams and business stakeholders to design and enforce governance processes.
