Senior Microsoft Purview Consultant – Advisory (Mumbai)

About the role

The Senior Microsoft Purview Consultant will lead end‑to‑end Purview implementations, design enterprise compliance architectures, and act as a trusted advisor for data protection, insider risk, and regulatory compliance programs. You will work within PwC’s Advisory line of service, helping clients across industries manage risk and achieve compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and lead Microsoft Purview deployments across Information Protection, Auto‑Classification, Enterprise & Endpoint DLP, Insider Risk Management, Adaptive Protection, eDiscovery, Audit and Records & Data Lifecycle Management.
• Design label taxonomy, retention models, and policy hierarchies aligned to business risk and regulation.
• Lead stakeholder workshops with Legal, Compliance, HR, InfoSec and IT teams.
• Own Insider Risk and eDiscovery operating models, workflows and escalation paths.
• Integrate Purview controls with Microsoft Defender, Intune and identity signals.
• Provide governance for Copilot and AI readiness using classification and DLP controls.
• Mentor junior consultants and review technical designs.
• Define KPIs, compliance maturity models and value‑realization metrics.

Required profile

• 5–6 years of experience in M365 Security & Compliance with deep Purview leadership.
• Hands‑on expertise in Purview Information Protection, Auto‑labeling, Endpoint DLP, Adaptive Protection, Insider Risk, eDiscovery Premium and audit readiness.
• Strong understanding of global regulatory requirements such as GDPR, DPDPA, HIPAA, SOX and PCI‑DSS.
• Proven experience delivering enterprise or regulated‑industry deployments.
• SC‑400 certification (mandatory).
• PowerShell automation for Purview policy management.
• Experience with multi‑geo and large M365 tenants.
• Consulting or GSI delivery experience with executive‑level communication.
