Assistant Professor – Design

About the role

The School of Design at MIT Vishwaprayag University seeks an Assistant Professor to teach and mentor students across Product, UX/UI, Communication, and Foundation Design. The role combines classroom instruction, curriculum development, and collaborative research to advance design education.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures, studio sessions, and workshops in foundation and specialized design subjects.
• Guide students through projects, portfolio creation, and internship placements.
• Develop and update curriculum and teaching materials aligned with industry standards.
• Participate in academic reviews, exhibitions, juries, and student evaluations.
• Partner with industry to integrate live projects and case studies into coursework.
• Engage in research, publications, or creative practice relevant to design education.
• Contribute to outreach activities and institutional growth initiatives.

Required profile

• Master’s degree (M.Des) or equivalent in a design discipline such as Product, UX/UI, Communication, Visual or Interaction Design.
• 3–5 years of academic and/or professional experience in the relevant design field.
• Prior teaching experience in a design institute is preferred.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of design principles and human‑centered design.
• Proficiency with design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and Sketch.
• Ability to mentor students in design thinking, concept development, and execution.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
