Assistant Manager – Oxygen Free Copper & Alloy Plant

About the role

The Assistant Manager will lead a team of operators in a high‑temperature copper and alloy rod production environment. This role ensures continuous casting machines run smoothly, product quality meets specifications, and safety standards are upheld.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of casting operators.
• Set up, operate, and tend continuous casting machines for copper and alloy rods.
• Monitor molten metal flow, temperature, and speed using pyrometers and gauges.
• Charge furnaces with cathode copper and alloying materials, ensuring correct composition.
• Prepare and maintain casting molds, applying release compounds as needed.
• Skim impurities and slag to maintain product purity.
• Inspect finished rods for defects and verify dimensions.
• Handle finished rods for coiling, storage, or further processing.
• Perform routine checks, preventative maintenance, and minor repairs on equipment.
• Maintain detailed production logs and quality control records.
• Follow all safety protocols and wear required PPE.
• Collaborate with other departments to resolve production challenges.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational qualification in metallurgy or related field preferred.
• 6–8 years of experience in metal casting, furnace operation, or continuous casting, preferably with copper or alloy rods.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy loads, and work in a loud, hot environment.
