Assistant Manager – Legal (Associate Regional Counsel)

About the role

The Assistant Manager – Legal (Associate Regional Counsel) will oversee property‑related legal matters, manage litigation, and provide corporate legal support for a retail organization.

Key responsibilities

• Handle property legal matters, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating lease deeds, leave & license agreements, sale deeds, MOUs, amendments, and renewals.
• Manage litigation and court matters, coordinating with external counsel, tracking cases, filings, and follow‑ups.
• Provide legal advisory support to business teams on day‑to‑day corporate and operational matters.
• Draft, review, and negotiate corporate contracts, vendor agreements, NDAs, and commercial agreements.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and internal legal policies.
• Support regional legal requirements and act as the legal single point of contact for internal stakeholders.
• Assist in risk assessment and mitigation for property and retail operations.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of property laws and real estate documentation.
• Experience handling both corporate legal work and court matters.
• Exposure to retail industry legal operations.
• Ability to work closely with business, finance, and operations teams.
• Good drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Experience in fashion or lifestyle retail (preferred).
• Prior experience supporting regional or multi‑location retail operations (preferred).
