Assistant Housekeeping Manager

About the role

The Assistant Housekeeping Manager supports daily operations across housekeeping, recreation/health club, and laundry services at a Marriott property in Goa. This entry‑level management role ensures guest rooms and public areas are clean, safe, and well‑maintained while helping to meet budget and service standards.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate room cleaning schedules, check‑outs, and work assignments.
• Maintain inventory of linens, supplies, and equipment, and place orders as needed.
• Conduct inspections of guestrooms and public spaces, providing corrective feedback.
• Communicate room status promptly to the Front Desk and collaborate with Engineering for maintenance requests.
• Oversee lost‑and‑found procedures and ensure compliance with OSHA and loss‑prevention policies.
• Supervise housekeeping staff in the absence of the Director of Services or Housekeeping Manager.
• Handle guest complaints, review feedback, and promote exceptional customer service.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with at least one year of housekeeping experience, OR a 2‑year degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams.
• Commitment to maintaining safety standards and guest satisfaction.

Required skills

• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and loss‑prevention policies.
• Inventory management and basic budgeting awareness.
• Effective communication with front‑desk and engineering departments.
