Area Sales Manager – Lending (LRM)

About the role

Paytm is looking for an experienced Sales Leader & People Manager to drive the Merchant Lending business across the assigned region. The role involves scaling merchant loan penetration, strengthening underwriting funnel quality, and unlocking incremental revenue through strategic cross‑sell initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Grow Merchant Lending penetration and overall credit distribution in the assigned geography.
• Drive visibility & deployment of lending products—Merchant Loans, BNPL, QR‑linked credit, overdraft lines, etc.
• Lead cross‑sell of financial products like Gold SIP, Insurance, and other merchant financial tools.
• Identify, recruit, and manage a strong field sales team to accelerate lending acquisition and cross‑sell outputs.
• Define market size, span, funnel metrics, and territories for Team Leads to maximise efficiency.
• Monitor and improve portfolio quality metrics—repayment behaviour, fraud checks, documentation hygiene, and onboarding quality.

Required profile

• Experience in sales leadership and people management within lending or financial services.
• Proven ability to grow credit distribution and manage large on‑ground teams (5–10 Team Leads & 100+ indirect employees).

Required skills

• Knowledge of merchant lending products (Merchant Loans, BNPL, QR‑linked credit, overdraft lines).
• Ability to conduct audits, validate loan files, and ensure compliance.
