Area Debt Manager – Recoveries – Consumer Loans & Cross Sell

About the role

The Area Debt Manager – Recoveries – Consumer Loans & Cross Sell is responsible for leading a team that oversees operational recovery activities for a credit portfolio within an assigned territory. The role ensures adherence to corporate policies, minimizes front‑line delinquencies, and works closely with legal teams to apply appropriate legal actions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage collections for specific consumer loan products across the designated area, ensuring efficiency and cost‑effectiveness.
• Track and control delinquency metrics bucket‑wise and DPD‑wise, focusing on non‑starter accounts.
• Review account allocations and set collection targets for in‑house teams and external agencies.
• Monitor and enforce legal compliance of collection agencies and executives.
• Set productivity parameters, oversee performance, and ensure adequate “feet on street” coverage.
• Conduct background and reference checks on agencies and continuously evaluate their performance.
• Collaborate with the legal department to initiate legal actions on specified cases.

Required profile

• Graduate or Post‑graduate degree in any discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in collections, preferably in banking or financial services.
• Proven ability to attract, retain and lead talent within a reporting structure.
