Architect – Retail Banking Solutions

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Architect to lead the design of complex hybrid delivery solutions for our retail banking platforms. You will apply deep expertise in Kotlin, Java and Spring Boot to create secure, scalable and reliable applications that enhance customer‑centric services while meeting regulatory and enterprise standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design end‑to‑end application architectures for retail banking platforms using Kotlin, Java and Spring Boot.
• Define and document architecture blueprints, integration patterns and reference implementations.
• Collaborate with product owners, business analysts and domain experts to translate banking requirements into technical designs.
• Provide technical guidance on clean coding, micro‑service decomposition, API design and secure transaction handling.
• Evaluate existing Java/Spring Boot applications, identify modernization opportunities and drive migration strategies.
• Ensure designs align with enterprise architecture standards, data‑governance, security controls and regulatory expectations.
• Oversee non‑functional requirements such as performance, capacity, availability and observability.
• Coordinate with infrastructure and DevOps teams to define deployment patterns, CI/CD pipelines and runtime configurations.
• Conduct design and code reviews, offering actionable feedback to raise engineering quality.
• Partner with stakeholders to assess technology options, third‑party components and integration approaches.
• Promote best practices in domain‑driven design, event‑driven architectures and API‑first development.
• Create and maintain architecture documentation, diagrams and decision records.
• Engage with risk, compliance and security teams to design controls for data privacy, transaction integrity and fraud prevention.

Required profile

• Extensive professional experience architecting enterprise‑grade applications with Kotlin, Java and Spring Boot.
• Strong knowledge of retail banking processes such as account management and payments.
• Proven ability to work with cross‑functional teams and guide development groups.
• Experience ensuring compliance with regulatory and security standards in a banking environment.
