Android Kotlin Software Engineer

About the role

HARMAN Automotive is looking for an experienced Android UI Developer to lead the creation of sophisticated user interfaces for Android Automotive OS applications. You will work with Jetpack Compose and drive UI excellence in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of complex UI components using Jetpack Compose.
• Promote and adopt the MVVM architectural pattern across the UI team.
• Collaborate closely with UX/UI designers, the UI Architect, and the Product Owner to ensure technical feasibility and optimal user experience.
• Define and execute comprehensive unit and UI testing strategies with JUnit, Espresso, and Compose testing.
• Identify performance bottlenecks, optimise UI/UX, and resolve issues proactively.
• Mentor junior developers through code reviews and pair programming.

Required profile

• 3 to 6 years of Android application development experience, with a strong focus on UI.
• Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and critical‑thinking abilities.
• Ability to work onsite five days a week and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.

Required skills

• Jetpack Compose (architecture and performance).
• Android Jetpack components, especially ViewModel and StateFlow/SharedFlow.
• Kotlin development, including Coroutines.
• UI testing frameworks: JUnit, Espresso, Compose testing.
• Understanding of MVVM pattern.
• Bonus: navigation domain knowledge and experience with Figma toolchain.
