Airport Firefighter

About the role

The Airport Firefighter is responsible for rapid response to fire and life‑safety incidents across terminals, aircraft and airport facilities. The role includes rescue operations, fire‑extinguisher servicing, equipment upkeep and supporting medical emergencies to protect passengers, staff and infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to fire emergencies in aircraft, terminals and buildings, performing rescues and guiding occupants to safety in accordance with the ARFF manual.
• Provide first‑aid medical assistance during incidents.
• Maintain operational readiness of firefighting appliances, conduct hydraulic testing, repainting and refilling of extinguishers.
• Drive and service light‑weight utility and operational vehicles used on the airside.
• Patrol airport premises, inspect fire‑protection systems and update checklists, reporting any observations to the crew commander.

Required profile

• Minimum education: 10+2 with science subjects.
• Physical fitness and ability to work in high‑stress, emergency environments.
• Willingness to work on‑site at the airport and adhere to strict safety SOPs.

Required skills

• Firefighting and Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) procedures.
• First‑aid medical response.
• Fire‑extinguisher maintenance, hydraulic testing and equipment inspection.
• Operation of light‑weight utility and airport vehicles.
