About the role
The Zonal Sales Manager (ZSM) will lead the sales effort for Airtel in the Chandigarh zone, overseeing a team of approximately 15 Account Managers. The role combines revenue generation (hunting) and account maintenance (farming) across multiple lines of business, including Data, Corporate Postpaid, Fixed Line, and new product offerings.
Key responsibilities
- Execute the go‑to‑market strategy for the assigned zone, building sales plans, forecasts, and pipelines.
- Achieve targets for sales, revenue growth, churn reduction, and product mix.
- Allocate and monitor targets for Account Managers based on territory potential.
- Drive both hunting and farming initiatives, leveraging customer insights captured in the Bottom Up Construct.
- Collaborate with the Market Planning team to expand fiber network in high‑potential B2B buildings and clusters.
- Implement the Serve‑to‑Sell model to strengthen long‑lasting customer relationships.
- Develop digital capabilities within the team and promote new work‑ways based on digital initiatives.
- Lead people management activities: hiring, motivation, goal setting, performance tracking, feedback, and recognition.
Required profile
- Proven experience leading a sales team of around 10‑20 members.
- Strong understanding of B2B telecom products and services.
- Ability to mentor and develop Account Managers.
- Experience in both new‑business acquisition and account retention.
- Capability to work with internal stakeholders to drive cross‑functional initiatives.
