Wind Lead – PMO Governance for Renewable Energy Programme

About the role

AECOM is seeking an experienced Wind Lead to provide programme‑level governance, technical oversight, and strategic guidance for the wind package within a large‑scale renewable energy programme. The role oversees turbine installation, balance‑of‑plant, logistics, commissioning and hand‑over readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Provide programme‑level governance and performance oversight for all wind package activities, monitoring milestones, schedules and risks.
• Lead technical governance for wind turbine generator installation, balance‑of‑plant infrastructure, civil works, mechanical and electrical erection, logistics and underground shared services.
• Manage critical interfaces between wind assets, grid connection, substations, SCADA and other programme packages, coordinating with solar, BESS and transmission teams.
• Review and mitigate package‑level risks related to schedule, quality, safety and commissioning, and support executive decision‑making.
• Oversee commissioning plans, testing strategies and hand‑over readiness, ensuring performance testing and HOTO activities meet programme objectives.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of experience in wind energy, power generation or large‑scale infrastructure projects.
• Proven track record delivering utility‑scale wind projects through engineering, construction, commissioning and hand‑over.
• Experience in programme management, project governance, owner’s engineer, PMC or EPC environments.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and external partners.

Required skills

• Wind Turbine Generators (WTG) and Balance of Plant (BoP) expertise.
• Electrical systems, substations, SCADA and grid integration knowledge.
• Commissioning processes, performance testing and operational readiness.
• Project controls, risk management and contract administration.
• Logistics and erection methodologies for wind farms.
