Welding Supervisor

About the role

Siemens Mobility is seeking a Welding Supervisor to lead welding activities for rail vehicle projects. You will ensure safety, quality, and compliance with industry standards while supporting continuous improvement in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute health and safety plans in line with legal, customer, and organizational requirements.
• Inspect and ensure compliance with welding standards and monitor operational planning of welders.
• Train and monitor welders and fitters on drawing specifications, pre‑heating, welding sequences, parameters, joint geometry, and finishing processes.
• Perform visual testing (VT) on welded running gear frames and components and document results.
• Collaborate with production engineering to record times, create welding sequence plans, and define improvement measures.
• Supervise welding repairs and manage storage of materials and equipment.
• Develop and maintain test instructions and quality standards, support internal and external audits, and assess process KPIs.
• Block non‑conforming products, conduct statistical evaluation of test results, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• BE in Mechanical Engineering with solid knowledge of welding in the railway industry.
• Familiarity with technical welding standards such as EN ISO 15085, EN ISO 5817, DVS 1622.
• Preferred IWE/IWT qualification and NDT certification (EN 9712).
• Strong technical expertise in welding processes and visual inspection.
