Welding Engineer – Manage Procedures & Improve Yard Activities

About the role

The Welding Engineer will oversee existing welding procedures and drive continuous improvement across all welding activities within the yard. The role supports production, design, and procurement teams to ensure high-quality, compliant welding operations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update welding documentation (WPS, WML, weld sequences) to meet project schedules.
• Coordinate the implementation of new welding procedures with all stakeholders.
• Troubleshoot welding defects and production issues on-site.
• Provide technical input to design teams for optimal joint configurations and mechanisation opportunities.
• Support the procurement function by supplying approved vendor data and managing consumable quality.
• Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, safety, and quality assurance requirements.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of welding processes, consumables and relevant codes & standards.
• Experience in producing and managing welding documentation such as WPS and WML.
• Ability to analyse welding schedules and recommend process improvements.
• Effective communication and stakeholder-management skills.
