Welder – Metal Fabrication for Trailers

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Welder to fabricate, assemble, and weld metal and steel components for various trailers according to SOPs, blueprints, and foreman instructions. The role involves working in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining high quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and measurements to plan layout and welding procedures.
• Determine appropriate welding equipment, settings, and methods for each task.
• Set up components, align them using fixtures, tape measures, levels, and clamps, and prepare surfaces with angle grinders.
• Perform manual welding in vertical, horizontal, or overhead positions, fill gaps, and weld trailer components.
• Test and inspect welded surfaces for defects, ensuring compliance with quality requirements.
• Maintain a clean 5S work environment and adhere to safety standards, adopting a “Stop and Fix” mindset.
• Assist fellow welders to improve efficiency and ensure timely completion of projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including equipment maintenance and lifting heavy parts.

Required profile

• Must be at least 18 years old and able to lift over 50 lb repeatedly.
• Capable of working in awkward positions (bending, stooping, kneeling, standing) for up to 10 hours per shift.
• Pass a weld test and demonstrate proficiency with a tape measure to 1/16 in.
• Commitment to a safe working environment and adherence to company quality standards.

Required skills

• Manual welding (MIG/TIG) in various positions.
• Reading blueprints and technical drawings.
• Use of angle grinders, clamps, levels, and measuring tools.
• Basic equipment maintenance.
