VMware Administrator – L2 (On‑site, 24/7 Rotational Shifts)

About the role

We are seeking a skilled VMware Administrator (L2) to manage, maintain, and optimise our virtualisation environment. The role requires a proactive approach to ensure security, performance, and reliability of the infrastructure while providing 24/7 L2 support.

Key responsibilities

• Provide L2 technical support for VMware infrastructure, including troubleshooting and issue resolution.
• Monitor alerts from VMware tools and respond promptly.
• Perform routine maintenance such as patching and upgrading VMware software.
• Troubleshoot virtual machine performance, networking, and storage issues.
• Collaborate with L1 teams and escalate complex problems to L3 when needed.
• Document procedures and knowledge in a management system.
• Participate in on‑call rotation, delivering 24/7 support.
• Manage vendor relationships for logged support cases.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• VMware Professional Level Certification (VCP or VCAP preferred).
• 5+ years of hands‑on experience with VMware (ESXi, vCenter, vSphere).
• Strong knowledge of Veeam/Commvault backup, SAN/NAS storage, HCI, and Cisco Intersight/UCS Manager.
• Excellent communication, problem‑solving abilities and capacity to work under pressure.
