VMware Administrator

About the role

The VMware Administrator will manage and maintain a mission‑critical infrastructure that supports virtualized, containerised and traditional workloads. You will work closely with customers and senior analysts to deliver reliable hosting services across Windows and Linux platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain VMware, Hyper‑V, Citrix application delivery and Remote Desktop Services environments.
• Manage Windows Server (2016, 2019, 2022) and Linux (RedHat, Oracle Linux) servers, both standalone and clustered.
• Deploy and configure infrastructure‑as‑code tools such as Ansible, Terraform and Kubernetes.
• Administer database platforms including Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle.
• Prepare and update hosting documentation and validate customer hosting requests.
• Provision virtual servers and related services based on design specifications.
• Perform scheduled and ad‑hoc backup, restore and patching operations for Windows and Linux systems.
• Maintain physical server hardware, SAN storage and load‑balancing appliances.
• Provide first‑line support via the service desk and participate in on‑call rotation.

Required profile

• Proven experience in operating mission‑critical virtualised environments.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work with customers to resolve issues.
• Familiarity with data‑center operations and service‑desk processes.
