Visiting Faculty – French Language Instructor

About the role

We are seeking a Visiting Faculty member to teach French to students of varying proficiency levels. The role involves delivering engaging language instruction, adapting methods to individual learning styles, and contributing to the department’s pedagogical development.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver lesson plans for beginner to advanced French courses.
• Assess student progress through quizzes, assignments, and oral examinations.
• Manage classroom dynamics and create an inclusive, respectful learning environment.
• Adapt instructional approaches to suit diverse learning styles and proficiency levels.
• Integrate educational technology and digital tools to enhance language acquisition.
• Mentor junior teachers and participate in teacher‑training initiatives.
• Contribute to curriculum review and pedagogical improvement within the department.

Required profile

• Strong skills in French teaching and tutoring, with ability to adapt instruction.
• Demonstrated expertise in lesson planning, classroom management, and student assessment.
• Interest or experience in teacher training and pedagogical development.
• Proficiency in spoken and written French; ability to use communicative teaching methods.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in French, Foreign Languages, Education, Linguistics, or related field, or relevant certification.
• Prior experience teaching French at school, college, or university level is highly preferred.
• Excellent classroom communication skills and commitment to an inclusive learning environment.
• Comfort with using educational technology and digital tools for language teaching.
