Vertical Machining Center (VMC) Operator

About the role

We are looking for a skilled VMC Operator to join our precision engineering team at Sree Venkateswara Company in Coimbatore. The role involves setting up and running Vertical Machining Center (VMC) equipment to produce high‑quality metal components for automotive, aerospace and other demanding sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Set up VMC machines, load CNC programs, select tools and prepare fixtures and workpieces.
• Interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and machining process sheets to determine machining parameters.
• Monitor machining cycles, adjust feeds and speeds, and perform in‑process inspections using calipers, micrometers and gauges.
• Conduct routine maintenance, troubleshoot minor equipment issues and coordinate with supervisors for process improvements.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and adhere to all quality and safety procedures.

Required profile

• Diploma/ITI in Mechanical, Tool & Die, Production or equivalent practical experience.
• Hands‑on experience operating VMC or CNC machines in a precision engineering environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.
• Willingness to work in shifts, stand for extended periods and handle moderate manual material handling.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
