Validation and Compliance Engineer

About the role

Join Armstrong Fluid Technology to ensure products meet global regulatory standards and move them through the certification process. You will work cross‑functionally to embed compliance and validation activities throughout product development.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret regional and international regulatory standards (e.g., BIS, CE, SABRE, GSO, SASO, MOHAP, GOEIC, CPSO) for HVAC, plumbing and fire‑protection product streams.
• Develop and implement compliance strategies, maintain audit‑ready documentation, and support internal and external audits.
• Lead design failure mode and effects analysis (DFMEA), conduct risk workshops and integrate findings into validation plans.
• Create and manage comprehensive Design Validation Plans (DVPs), define test methods, coordinate testing and analyse results.
• Lead end‑to‑end product certification processes with third‑party bodies (UL, NSF, CE, etc.), estimate costs and ensure timely delivery of certifications.
• Participate in agile ceremonies, act as liaison between offering managers, engineers and validation teams, and prioritize regulatory tasks across projects.
• Provide training on compliance, risk analysis, FMEA and validation, and develop manuals, procedures and continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or related engineering.
• 3–5 years of experience in validation and compliance engineering within a manufacturing or product‑development environment.
• Proven experience with product certification processes and interaction with regulatory bodies or test labs (e.g., CSA, UL, ULC).
• Exposure to national and international regulatory frameworks and ability to interpret technical codes.
• Experience working in agile, cross‑functional engineering teams; HVAC or building‑services background is a plus.

Required skills

• Regulatory standards knowledge (BIS, CE, SABRE, GSO, SASO, MOHAP, GOEIC, CPSO).
• Product certification processes (UL, NSF, CE, etc.).
• FMEA (DFMEA, PFMEA), root‑cause analysis (RCA) and CAPA.
• ISO, ANSI, IEC frameworks; ISO 17025, ISO 14001, ISO 9001, ISO 45001.
• Lean principles, process mapping, value analysis/value engineering (VA/VE).
• CIBSE standards (UK market).
• Hypothesis testing, data analysis, statistical test design.
• Interpretation of engineering drawings, specifications and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Validation documentation (IQ/OQ/PQ, DFMEA, PFMEA).
