Urban Planning Intern – Development & Design

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Urban Planning Intern to join our Development, Planning and Urban Design (DPUD) team. You will gain hands‑on experience on projects across the Middle East and globally, supporting spatial analysis, research‑led design and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Support land‑use planning, master‑planning and policy review under senior guidance.
• Assist with data collection, mapping and basic spatial analysis using GIS, CAD and other tools.
• Prepare diagrams, plans, maps and presentations with GIS, AutoCAD, Adobe Suite or similar software.
• Translate planning concepts and research findings into clear narratives and visual outputs.
• Interpret spatial, demographic and socio‑economic data to inform evidence‑based planning.
• Collaborate with urban designers, economists, transport planners and environmental specialists.
• Help draft reports, concept notes and client deliverables.
• Research urban trends, regulations and best practices, especially for the Middle East.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Urban Planning, Spatial Planning, Regional Planning or a related field.
• Basic understanding of planning processes, land‑use concepts and spatial planning principles.
• Strong analytical, organisational and problem‑solving abilities with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
