Transport Planner – Entry Level

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Transport Planner to join Surbana Jurong’s India team in Gurugram. The role offers the chance to work on a variety of transport projects, from strategic planning to data‑driven modelling, and to collaborate with engineers, policymakers and local stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead transport planning projects from inception through delivery.
• Develop transport strategies, studies and assessments.
• Direct primary and secondary data collection activities.
• Analyse traffic patterns and model scenarios for urban and regional networks.
• Prepare high‑quality technical reports and presentations.
• Contribute to planning applications and transport statements.
• Work closely with clients, local authorities and project partners.
• Support the delivery of sustainable, future‑focused mobility solutions.

Required profile

• Postgraduate degree in Transport Planning, Transportation Engineering or a related field.
• 0–1 years of relevant experience in transport planning or traffic engineering.
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Clear and confident written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Required skills

• Experience with transport modelling tools such as VISSIM, VISUM and CUBE.
• Proficiency in GIS for spatial analysis.
