THT Process Engineer - Manufacturing Engineering

About the role

We are seeking a THT Process Engineer to develop, optimise and maintain through‑hole technology (THT) assembly processes within our manufacturing environment. The role focuses on both manual and wave soldering operations, ensuring high quality and efficient production.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and establish THT assembly processes (manual & wave soldering).
• Define SOPs, work instructions and detailed process flows.
• Set and optimise wave soldering parameters such as temperature, speed and flux.
• Monitor soldering quality, control defects (cold joints, bridging) and perform root‑cause analysis using 5‑Why.
• Implement corrective actions to improve yield, efficiency and reduce cycle time.
• Ensure compliance with IPC standards and internal quality requirements.
• Provide real‑time production support and troubleshoot process issues.
• Train operators on soldering techniques, safety procedures and standards.
• Maintain process documentation including PFMEA, control plans and reports.
• Coordinate with maintenance for machine upkeep and preventive maintenance.
• Manage and validate tooling, fixtures and solder pallets to enhance production efficiency.

Required profile

• Proven experience developing and maintaining THT manual and wave soldering processes.
• Ability to create SOPs, work instructions and comprehensive process flows.
• Experience monitoring soldering quality and conducting defect analysis using 5‑Why.
• Capability to provide real‑time support to production and resolve process issues.
• Experience training operators on soldering techniques, safety and standards.
• Familiarity with IPC standards and maintaining PFMEA and control plans.
• Ability to coordinate with maintenance teams for preventive upkeep.
• Experience managing tooling, fixtures and solder pallets for efficient production.
