Test Engineer

About the role

The Test Engineer will ensure the MillerKnoll India Test Lab operates efficiently, delivering accurate product conformance, regulatory compliance, and support for new product development. You will manage lab infrastructure, design custom test fixtures, and lead testing activities in collaboration with cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and calibrate all test and measurement equipment according to ISO and BIS requirements.
• Specify, procure, validate, and optimize test equipment, ensuring alignment with industry best practices.
• Design and develop custom test fixtures, software tools, and instrumentation for manual and automated testing.
• Perform or oversee mechanical, durability, and performance testing of furniture, electrical components, and assemblies.
• Collaborate with product engineers to define test procedures and improve testing efficiency.
• Analyze data, prepare comprehensive reports, and communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Develop and document SOPs for test methods, calibration, and preventive maintenance.
• Train and mentor lab technicians on testing protocols and equipment use.
• Support Performance Engineering and Regulatory teams with BIS Quality Control Orders and IS standards.
• Coordinate with external labs, machine builders, and certification bodies, and assist in NABL accreditation efforts.
