Test Engineer – Brake Applications (VM Brakes)

About the role

We are looking for a Test Engineer to join the VM Brakes team in Coimbatore. You will be responsible for validating brake application software, ensuring high quality and reliability of embedded systems used in automotive vehicles.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and execute functional, integration, regression and system test cases for brake software.
• Perform testing on both hardware‑in‑the‑loop (HIL) and software‑in‑the‑loop (SIL) environments.
• Analyze test results, log defects in tools such as Jira or ALM and work with development, hardware and QA teams to resolve them.
• Develop automated test scripts and frameworks, leveraging the Cx testing framework.
• Review software requirements and specifications to guarantee comprehensive test coverage.
• Prepare test reports and provide feedback on software quality and reliability.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes and methodologies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Approximately 10 years of experience in embedded software testing, preferably in the automotive domain.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python and C programming.
• Experience with communication protocols such as CAN, UART and SPI.
• Familiarity with HIL and SIL testing environments.
• Knowledge of the Cx test framework.
• Use of defect tracking tools like Jira or ALM.
