Technician I, Maintenance 1

About the role

In our always‑on world, CommScope is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to support production equipment at its site. The role includes preventive maintenance, breakdown response, new line setup and spare‑parts management while working in a shift environment.

Key responsibilities

• Execute preventive maintenance schedules on production equipment.
• Attend and close breakdown calls, keeping downtime under control.
• Control MTBF and MTTR metrics and escalate pending jobs.
• Follow all safety norms and maintain 5S standards.
• Track spare consumption and highlight deviations.
• Maintain maximum equipment uptime through quick troubleshooting.
• Work in a rotational three‑shift schedule.
• Handle gearboxes, bearings, pneumatics, motors and lubrication.
• Develop or modify machines, tools and fixtures as needed.

Required profile

• B.E. in Electronics/Electrical Engineering with 1–2 years experience, or Diploma with 3–5 years hands‑on manufacturing experience.
• Proven experience in maintenance, fault diagnosis and troubleshooting of cable manufacturing lines.
• Strong exposure to preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance in a continuous process environment.
• Working knowledge of PLC, HMI, AC/DC drives and motors.
• Familiarity with industrial sensors such as proximity, photoelectric, encoders, load cells, temperature controllers and pressure transducers.
• Hands‑on experience with drive faults, field wiring, control panels and power distribution.
• Basic understanding of mechanical gearboxes, bearings, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
