Technical Development Engineer – Rigid Polyurethanes

About the role

This position supports customers and the sales team by providing technical solutions, driving product development, and managing polyurethane (PU) projects in India. The role focuses on establishing material and technical solutions, handling customer complaints, and ensuring smooth material processing at customer sites.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical services and drive business development for rigid PU systems in the appliance and construction sectors.
• Identify and develop new applications for the polyurethane portfolio, initiating product development and fine‑tuning formulations to meet regional customer needs.
• Align technical services and application development with local sales objectives and manage resources in coordination with the TS and sales teams.
• Lead customer‑driven innovations, joint development projects, and formulation work with the laboratory.
• Resolve non‑conformance material (NCM) issues promptly, liquidate aged stock, and settle customer concerns.
• Act as liaison between country technical service and regional technical development teams, translating success stories into business growth.
• Collaborate with industry marketing, operations sites, QA, and external partners to improve polyol products and standardize lab‑developed formulations for production.

Required profile

• Experience in technical service, product development, or business development within the polyurethane industry.
• Proven ability to manage formulation projects, coordinate with laboratories and quality teams, and address customer technical issues.
• Strong project‑management skills and capability to work closely with sales, marketing, and operations stakeholders.
• Understanding of polyol product improvement, material substitution, and cost‑effective development.
