Team Leader – Project Management Consultant (PMC)

About the role

AECOM is looking for an experienced Team Leader – PMC to oversee on‑site execution of transmission lines, substations and renewable‑energy integration projects. The role acts as the Owner’s Representative, coordinating EPC contractors, ensuring compliance with design, quality, HSE standards and project schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day site activities for substations, transmission lines and related infrastructure, ensuring execution per approved drawings and specifications.
• Direct multidisciplinary site teams (Electrical, Civil & Structural, I&C, QA/QC, HSE) and manage interfaces to resolve engineering and execution issues.
• Supervise EPC contractor performance, verify billing, monitor resource deployment and implement corrective actions for delays.
• Enforce the Project Quality Plan, conduct material inspections, track non‑conformances and ensure compliance with IS/IEC standards.
• Maintain a zero‑harm safety culture, conduct daily safety briefings, and oversee high‑risk activities such as tower erection and transformer lifting.

Required profile

• B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering with 12–18 years of experience in the power sector (EPC/PMC/site execution).
• Proven track record in managing high‑voltage substations (up to 765 kV) and long‑distance transmission line projects.
• Strong stakeholder coordination, vendor management and ability to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Required skills

• Substations (AIS/GIS) design and construction.
• High‑voltage transmission line installation and commissioning.
• Renewable‑energy integration (solar, wind, BESS) with grid interfaces.
• Basic protection, SCADA and grid interface knowledge.
• MS Project / Primavera, AutoCAD and MS Office for planning and reporting.
