Tax Junior Analyst – Hybrid (Mumbai)

About the role

Citi is looking for a motivated Tax Junior Analyst to join its centralized Tax Information Reporting function in Mumbai. The role is hybrid, offering a blend of on‑site collaboration and remote flexibility while providing exposure to senior leaders and extensive learning opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Support the reduction and elimination of Citi’s franchise and regulatory risk through accurate, timely tax reporting and enhanced due diligence on customer accounts.
• Manage in‑scope tax processes for one or multiple Citi lines of business, ensuring quality and compliance with IRS regulations.
• Perform relatively complex assignments with little supervision, including training, job shadowing, and documentation of procedures and process flows.
• Identify gaps in existing processes based on regulatory changes and propose improvements.
• Support a specific business vertical, quickly developing product knowledge and resolving basic to moderately complex tax‑related issues.

Required profile

• Good knowledge of tax processes, procedures and systems, with a basic understanding of underlying tax concepts.
• Ability to work independently, assess applicability of prior experiences, and evaluate options in situations not covered by standard procedures.
• Strong understanding of how the tax team interacts with other functions to achieve business objectives.
• Willingness to learn quickly and adapt to a fast‑paced banking environment.
