Tax Consultant II – Australian Tax Services (Hyderabad)

About the role

Deloitte Tax Services India is seeking a Tax Consultant II to support Australian tax engagements for Deloitte member firms. Based in Hyderabad, you will work on tax compliance, reporting and data analysis for Australian corporate clients.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review Australian corporate tax returns, applying relevant tax laws and rulings.
• Assist in tax effect accounting, deferred tax calculations and preparation of tax position papers.
• Coordinate with on‑shore Australian teams to address queries and deliverables.
• Draft tax return transmittal letters and engagement documentation, including invoices.
• Review trust distribution calculations and ensure compliance with current tax law.
• Perform data analysis and reporting using tools such as Tableau and Alteryx.
• Support process‑improvement and automation initiatives.
• Conduct tax research to answer client‑specific tax questions.

Required profile

• Full‑time master’s degree in finance or an equivalent qualification from a reputable university.
• Strong accounting knowledge.
• 1‑3 years of experience working on Australian taxation.
• Critical thinking, analytical abilities and proficient written and verbal English communication.
