Systems Administrator – AWS

About the role

The Senior Systems Administrator will be responsible for the day‑to‑day management of Lexitas’ IT infrastructure, both on‑premise and in AWS. The role ensures system availability, security, and compliance for platforms that handle sensitive medical records.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and monitor network, email, servers, storage and backup systems to guarantee high availability.
• Implement and manage security controls including firewalls, IDS/IDP, antivirus, and email security tools.
• Design, modify and support advanced infrastructure components in AWS and on‑premise environments.
• Develop and enforce policies, change‑management procedures, performance baselines and security frameworks.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and cost optimisation for infrastructure services.
• Create, test and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
• Provide mentorship, training and knowledge transfer to junior team members.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other relevant regulations for medical records.

Required profile

• Several years of experience managing complex IT infrastructures, preferably in a senior or lead capacity.
• Proven experience deploying and supporting AWS services such as EC2, VPC, RDS, S3 and Load Balancers.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure‑as‑Code tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
• Strong understanding of AWS security, IAM and identity management concepts.
• Experience with network security, IDS/IDP, antivirus solutions and backup technologies.
• Ability to develop policies, procedures and security frameworks.
