System Engineer – Power Systems

About the role

The System Engineer – Power Systems will be responsible for the analysis, design, and optimisation of electrical power systems across various industrial sectors. You will conduct comprehensive studies, troubleshoot issues, and ensure system stability and reliability for our clients.

Key responsibilities

• Perform power system studies using ETAP, covering power flow, short‑circuit, transient, stability, arc‑flash, harmonics and grounding analyses.
• Prepare technical reports, evaluate design options and present findings to client technical teams.
• Utilise DIgSILENT and PSCAD for network modelling, steady‑state and dynamic analyses when required.
• Engineer balance‑of‑plant equipment such as transformers, switchgear and cables for M&O and Oil & Gas projects.
• Analyse customer contracts, draft specifications for vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Identify process, system or equipment improvement opportunities and drive implementation with leadership.
• Ensure compliance with all company and customer EHS policies.
• Collaborate with Platform Engineering, Technology, Value Engineering and Supply Chain to support project objectives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Strong analytical mindset with a focus on quality and adherence to defined processes.
• Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and contribute to project discussions.
• Commitment to continuous learning and a lean engineering approach.

Required skills

• ETAP software proficiency.
• Experience with DIgSILENT and PSCAD (advantageous).
• Power flow, short‑circuit, transient, stability, arc‑flash, harmonics and grounding analysis.
• Design and specification of transformers, switchgear and cable systems.
• Familiarity with balance‑of‑plant (BoP) equipment engineering.
