System Architect – Nutanix Virtualization Lead

About the role

The Technical Lead (Architect) is a senior authority responsible for designing, modernising and managing enterprise‑level virtualization and compute infrastructure. This hands‑on leadership position drives hybrid, hyper‑converged and cloud‑integrated platform delivery while bridging business requirements with technical execution.

Key responsibilities

• Lead development of target‑state platform architectures, defining standards for Nutanix virtualization, disaster recovery and high availability.
• Architect and execute large‑scale migrations from legacy VMware environments to Nutanix HCI ecosystems.
• Act as senior escalation point and advisor for complex compute and virtualization challenges, overseeing design reviews and proof‑of‑concepts.
• Define engineering standards, promote Infrastructure as Code and automation frameworks such as Ansible, Terraform and PowerShell.
• Partner with storage, networking and application owners to align platform capabilities with business objectives and security compliance.
• Prepare and deliver executive‑level presentations on technology strategy, risks and modernisation road‑maps.

Required profile

• 15+ years of experience in infrastructure architecture, platform engineering or senior IT leadership within large enterprises.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Active Nutanix certifications (NCP, NCM, NCA) and VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or equivalent.

Required skills

• Nutanix AOS, AHV and Prism.
• VMware vSphere/vCenter.
• Microsoft Hyper‑V.
• Automation/orchestration tools: Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell, Python.
• Hybrid cloud integration with Azure or AWS.
• Experience with Nutanix DR solutions (Leap, replication) and Prism Central.
